In addition to the Marketplace screen, you can order a virtual machine from the Virtual Machines screen. For additional information regarding the Virtual Machines screen, see Virtual Machines.

  1. In Nexus, in the left-side navigation, hover over Marketplace .

  2. Click Virtual Machines.

  3. Filter the results at the top of the page to narrow down machines that fit your requirements by:

    1. Region

    2. Operating System

    3. CPU

    4. Memory

  4. Select the desired virtual machine based on your CPU and memory needs (GB).

    1. Armor labels virtual machines by CPU and memory features. For instance, 2x4 indicates that the virtual machine has 2 CPU and 4 GB of memory.

  5. Fill in the details for your Virtual Machine:

    1. In Name, enter a descriptive name for your virtual machine.

    2. In Workload, select New Workload.

    3. In New Workload Name, enter a descriptive name.

    4. In In Workload Tier, select New Tier.

    5. In New Tier Name, enter a descriptive name.

    6. In Location, select the data center to host your virtual machine.

    7. In Password, enter a secure password to use to access the virtual machine.

      1. You can also click Generate Password for AMP to generate a password.

    8. (Optional) For additional storage, in Storage Substrate and Disk Size, select your desired storage, and then click Add Disk.

    9. (Optional) At this stage you can also choose to enroll in advanced backup policy to your Virtual Machine.

  6. On the right-side menu, review the pricing information, and then click Purchase.

    • You will be directed to a confirmation screen, where you can review a summary of your purchase, along with "next steps", additional resources, and the update schedule for your virtual machine.

  7. To view the status of your newly created virtual machine, in the left-nav, hover over Infrastructure, and under Compute, click Virtual Machines. Then search for your newly created virtual machine.

Note: You can also access the Marketplace through the legacy Armor Management Portal (AMP).

After you create a virtual machine, Armor recommends that you:

  1. Create a firewall rule

    • By default, outbound and inbound traffic are blocked from virtual machines. To allow traffic, you must create a firewall rule. To learn more, see Firewall Rules.

  2. Download the SSL/VPN client.

    • To access the virtual machine, you must download the SSL/VPN client. To learn more, see SSL VPN.
